Introducing Scott Wald

Introduction

My name is Scott Wald and I am a junior majoring in Economics. I have already finished my Economics coursework, so now I am exploring my other interests in coding, creating, and sports classes.

Interests

Economics was always my favorite subject in high school even though I had the class during COVID. My Economics teacher was very passionate about the subject and it made me think in very different ways than I was used to from my other classes. In Economics, I am primarily interested in classical theories and Financial Economics.

I've always played Trombone and luckily Trinity University gave me a music scholarship to support me in music ensembles. I've played in the Band and Orchestra, but the Jazz band has been my favorite since I get the opportunity to improvise.

Also, I am the Vice President of the Kappa Kappa Delta fraternity here at Trinity which helped introduce me to disc golf, which I have been playing more frequently at McClain Park and the course here at Trinity.

Expectations

Some goals I have for the class are to build a lamp, small table, or a disc golf rack, and nicely stain and sand whichever I choose to build. I also want to learn how to use the laser printer on small wooden slabs, and learn skills for looking for already completed fusion 360 print designs online. I also hope to get a good grasp of all the tools and machines in the makerspace so that I can take Ryan's metalworking class when he teaches it, and apply skills from this class to that one.

Here are some rough examples of what I want to make.
