Process
When I started my design, I had to brainstorm a lot to decide what topographical area I was most interested in using. I liked the idea of using a very specific part of Trinity's campus, but the land area ended up being too small to create a good result. Then, I started trying to search the map for cool mountains and unique terrain to use, but I didn't feel much inspiration towards them. Finally, I decided it would be fun to design a heart (a motif commonly found in my designs) with the topographic detailing of Berlin on the top since I'm going to study abroad there this summer! This heart can serve as a keychain and a sentimental representation of my excitement to go abroad. I imported the mesh design to Fusion 360 to design it and printed it out using the desktop CNC machine.

Result
This design process felt pretty mediocre for me since I wasn't struck with amazing inspiration and the actual CNC machine process doesn't stand out to me quite as much as the laser cutter or 3D printer did. However, I think the sentimental design concept I came up with is nicely personalized and was a good way to use the CNC machine. I think it turned out cute! I wish I had more time to sand it very smoothly and add an actual keychain ring.

Reflection
Since I've been feeling sick this week, I don't think I had as much dedication to this project as some others and I definitely felt rushed towards the final stretch of my production. If I were to use the CNC again, I think I'd like to try importing a texture with a bit more shape to it. It might be fun to experiment with all the different images or textures I could implement into my future designs by using the CNC machine!
